ITALY
General Information
Italy has a population of about 59 millions people and is a member of European Union. Italy is affiliated with European Association of Urology (E.A.U.) and has own representatives in both European Board of Urology (E.B.U.) and European School of Urology (E.S.U.).
The main National Urological Association is represented by Italian Society of Urology (S.I.U.) website www.siu.it, which counts 2.183 Members and in 2008 will celebrate its first 100 years of history being one of the oldest European Urological Association.
There are 34 Post-graduate Schools of Urology with a total of about 382 Residents.
Italian Residents are now reunited in an Italian Section Office of ESRU (ESRU Italia – webpage www.esruitalia.it), but during 2007 it will constitute the Italian Association of Residents in Urology (A.I.S.U.).
