Urological training

Graduating medical school, one can choose either Residency (5 years) or Post-Graduate Research (3 years).

Residency means 1 year General Surgery, 3-3 months – Radiology, Oncology, Gynecology, the rest is different fields of Urology.

A resident can be involved in research as well as post-graduate research can cover residents’ program (must be documented).

Career prospects

In fact we have large amount of doctors and thus practically have no vacancies. Finishing residency or post-graduate study, one should take care of it himself.  Of course it depends on professional knowledge/skills he/she can perform.

Fellowship - Research Opportunities

We have no fellowship programs at this moment in Georgia. As for Research, graduating Medical School one can pass exams and admit in Post-Graduate Research (or do research in residency), which means 3 years of work.
